The Sustainable Business Consortium is proud to support The Big Zero Show, (24th March – London) a leading event convening business leaders, practitioners, and innovators driving the net zero transition.
On the day members will play an active role in shaping the conversation — contributing real-world insights, practical experience, and candid perspectives on today’s most pressing sustainability challenges. From 1.30pm SBC members will participate in two Fishbowls of Sustainability — dynamic, interactive discussions designed to move beyond presentations and into genuine dialogue.
Fishbowl 1: Is Sustainability really delivering lasting business value?
As sustainability becomes more politically charged, many organisations are shifting focus from labels and ideology toward business value, performance, and resilience. Recent insights from Reuters Impact show 75% of C-suite leaders rate sustainability as highly important, with messaging evolving toward efficiency, competitiveness, and long-term value creation.
This fishbowl explores how practitioners are reframing sustainability to demonstrate lasting business value.
Led by Haydn Young, Gillian Brown (both Board Members of the SBC), this will be a highly interactive session where you help shape the dialogue.
Fishbowl 2: AI in Sustainability – what’s working, what’s not?
As AI moves from hype to everyday tool, sustainability teams face growing pressure to separate real value from noise. While AI is positioned as a game-changer across emissions tracking, supply chains, and reporting, many organisations struggle to move beyond pilots into measurable impact. Leaders cite data quality and organisational readiness as key barriers.
This fishbowl shares candid, practical insights on what’s genuinely working, what’s stalled, and what’s failed.
Challenge the hype and learn where AI can realistically support sustainability goals today. Led by Matteo Deidda, Sophie Mason (both Board Members of the SBC), this will be an interactive, participant-led discussion.
What is a Fishbowl Discussion?

A fishbowl is a highly interactive discussion format designed to encourage open, inclusive conversation.
Each session focuses on a key topic and begins with an inner circle of practitioners who frame the issue and spark the discussion. Surrounding participants form the outer circle, observing and listening.
Audience members can join the conversation at any time by stepping into one of the designated “hot seats.” Contributors briefly share a question, challenge, or perspective before returning to the outer circle, allowing others to participate. The result is a flowing, unscripted exchange shaped by the collective expertise and curiosity of the room — where attendees are active contributors rather than passive listeners.
Attendance is free to the Big Zero Show if you are an energy end user, just head over to www.bigzeroshow.com
