Gillian is a Senior Manager at Lloyds Banking Group, where she leads sustainability strategy across the Group’s operational portfolio to support its net zero ambitions. With 20 years’ experience in both public and private sector energy and sustainability roles, she has delivered major energy optimisation and renewable projects in complex building environments. Outside of work, Gillian chairs the Empowering Women in Energy and Sustainability group and is a Director at West Dunbartonshire Energy Company.
Matteo Deidda is a seasoned sustainability leader, currently working as Global Net Zero Lead at Tide, a global fintech, where he leads the organisation’s decarbonisation strategy and supports SMEs globally on their net-zero journeys. With more than a decade of experience in corporate sustainability, Matteo has driven sustainability transformations within FTSE 100 companies across retail (Sainsbury’s), technology (Vodafone UK), finance (Lloyds Banking Group). Matteo also contributes to the sustainability community as a Chartered Energy Manager, CISL Assessor, startup mentor, and advisory board member, including roles at PlanetMark and EMEX. Passionate about pragmatic, purpose driven environmental sustainability integration, he champions scalable, innovative and inclusive climate solutions for SMEs and large organisations alike.
Tom is Head of Sustainability at Birmingham Airport, leading the airport’s net zero and environmental strategy. With over 25 years’ experience across aviation, automotive, and consultancy sectors, he has delivered major sustainability programmes including waste reduction, carbon management, and air quality initiatives. Tom previously headed sustainability at Gatwick Airport, where he launched the ‘Decade of Change’ strategy, and he continues to drive innovation in energy efficiency, recycling, and climate resilience across aviation operations.
Jonathan manages energy and sustainability initiatives across Boots’ estate of over 2,200 sites, with a particular focus on building management systems (BMS) and energy data strategy. Passionate about sustainability and energy technology, he develops and implements control strategies that reduce energy use, ensure compliance (ESOS, ESG, CDP), and deliver measurable results. Jonathan oversees operational specifications across 1,100+ BMS-equipped stores and leads energy reduction projects that enhance building performance and efficiency.
Ria is a determined sustainability professional with 10 years’ experience working in the construction and retail sectors delivering energy and emissions management, colleague engagement and net zero strategy. Ria currently works in Aldi working to drive down Scope 1 & 2 emissions and deliver on the organisation’s net zero by 2035 target. She’s supported to deliver a 29% reduction in Scope 1 & 2 emissions vs baseline (2021) via projects such as alternative transport fuels, electrification of company cars and decarbonisation of heating, as well as the ongoing delivery of Aldi’s ISO 50001 energy management system.
Guy is a dedicated Energy, Sustainability and Project Manager with over 13 years experience across the FMCG, Retail and Healthcare sector. A member of the Energy Institute and the Energy Managers Association, he has a strong track record of making impactful and lasting change through the delivery of energy and carbon reduction projects and strategies.
Underpinned by the slogan ‘Energy ABC’ (Automation, Behaviour & Control), he’s keen on delivering meaningful behavioural change campaigns alongside technology – an advocate for employing the latest systems to maximise financial returns through energy and carbon savings.
Outside of work, Guy enjoys travel, motorsport, mechanical engineering and long walks with his West Highland Terrier, ‘Snoops’.
With over 20 years in the environmental sector, he holds a PhD focused on circular economy and sustainable business models. He has worked in academia and across FMCG sectors, bringing systems thinking into sustainability leadership. Nicholas is active in industry bodies including CIWM, IEMA, and Logistics UK, where he chairs the Environmental Working Group. He is passionate about circular systems and enjoys exploring the outdoors with his family and dogs.
Sophie is a passionate climate professional with 15 year’s experience in the energy & sustainability, working for large corporates in the retail, telecoms and now the finance sector. Sophie heads up the Sustainability agenda at Coventry Building Society, developing their decarbonisation roadmap to Net Zero by 2040. Since 2021, she’s delivered their Carbon Neutral targets for Scope 1 & 2 emissions, enabled CBS to become the first UK building society to achieve Bcorp status, developed their short, medium and long term climate strategy, delivered their key public commitments and implemented climate goals within CBS’s wider business strategy.
Bunzl plc is a global distribution and services group operating across the Americas, Europe, Asia Pacific and the UK & Ireland. With over 20 years’ experience in corporate sustainability, James has worked across food manufacturing, retail, hospitality and logistics. He leads Bunzl’s global sustainability programme, driving responsible sourcing, climate change initiatives, and circular economy strategies. James has developed award-winning sustainability programmes that support customers in meeting ambitious environmental goals.
Anna leads sustainability at HTLL, overseeing the company’s carbon reduction strategy, environmental policies, and reporting. She has extensive experience in transport decarbonisation, having held roles at Transport for London, Energy Saving Trust, and London Borough of Camden. Anna has successfully managed Innovate UK-funded projects and implemented key initiatives such as HVO fuel and electric vehicle trials. She is also an active member of several industry sustainability forums, supporting collaboration and innovation in the logistics sector.
Tim is currently responsible for energy price risk and power purchase agreements (PPAs) at BT. With over 24 years of experience in the energy industry, he has held senior commercial and operational roles across supply, distribution, and generation. Tim previously spent 11 years at Drax Group and worked in consultancy before joining BT in 2023. His expertise lies in trading, asset optimisation, and delivering innovative solutions to reduce carbon emissions and costs.
Haydn is CEO and Founder of the Sustainable Business Consortium (SBC), a collaborative network of energy and sustainability leaders across multiple sectors and network. With a background as an Energy Manager, he established the SBC to connect organisations, share best practice, and accelerate decarbonisation. Haydn also chairs industry discussions and speaks regularly on energy strategy, low carbon fuels, and sustainability leadership, helping businesses navigate the transition to net zero.
